is it okay to have someone with a little cold around my almost 12 week old?

im not gonna let her hold him or anything. do you think he will catch a cold simply from being in the same room as someone?

If your pediatrician told you to expose him to it, then you should. He can catch a cold from coming into contact with you if you were in contact with someone who has a cold–even at the grocery store! I’d expose him to everything you can now so his immune system gets built up.

Your baby will be fine. Really, it would be fine even if you let your friend hold him. As long as she washes her hands good before touching him, she will not get him sick. Obviously she shouldn’t cough or sneeze or anything around him.
Daycare is really rough on kids, even the ones that have been exposed to germs. You need to let him go around germs!
