I have lower back pain and my back feels warm to the touch. What does this mean?

truelori asked:

I think this is muscular pain but I’m not sure — do sore muscles sometimes feel hot to the touch? My lower back is not very hot, but it does feel warmer to me when I touch it than other parts of my body. Thanks!

    Eliminate All Physical Pain

Something that is warm to the touch typically indicates some kind of infection; I don’t think muscle infections are that common. Anyway, if it continues, definitely go see a doctor. Back pain only gets worse if left untreated. It has been my experience that, even if it goes away, it comes back eventually.
