What does it mean when an unborn baby has a backwards heart and fluid on it?

My friend went to the doctor and was told her unborn baby has a backwards heart that has fluid on it. The baby also has downsyndome and cystic fibroses. This ppor baby has all kinds of things wrong with it. What should I tell my friend and is there anyone that knows of babies surving these aweful things? Im sorry that i have nothing to say as far as what it is, what causes it all or have any knowledge about this. But i am sorry to hear about this. I hope she has the strength to care for this poor baby. No baby deserves this. But mom needs to be strong for them.

Awww. that is so sad. You should tell your friend that she should talk to her doctor and see if she can see a specialist and see what she can do. I have not heard of that personally, but Im sure that a specialist would have and would be able to give her advice and let her know what she can expect in the future. It will at least give her an idea. I hope everything works out for you guys. They have come a long way in the medical field now a days, so you never know what they may be able to do to help the baby. well I was in the NICU with my baby, there was a baby that was in there that was born with a backwards heart. He had lots of surgerys and was 9 months old when he finally got to go home. Not sure how he’s doing now….Also, my friend has cystic fibrosis and is 21. Most people with the disease dont live past there 30th birthday. Her sister also had it and died at age 26. I’m so sorry to hear about your friends baby. There’s not much she can do other than hope and pray that things will be ok and that they find a cure for cystic fibrosis soon.
